Yao Ming of Rockets Scores 30 points to Takes Over Seattle Super Sonics

Yao had 30 points and 17 rebounds and was 12-for-19 from the field in the Rockets’ 96-89 win over Seattle on Monday. Yao Ming has so far topped 20 points in each of his last four games and is averaging 26.5 points and 13.8 rebounds while shooting 59.4 percent from the field in that stretch.

Yao finished 12-of-19 from the field and 6-of-9 from the free-throw line, while Tracy McGrady contributed 17 points and six rebounds off the bench for Houston, which has won two straight and seven of its last nine.

Yao has reached 30 points in seven games this season. His rebound total was two shy of a season high.
